Join CCI-LEX as a volunteer English teacher and empower refugees and newcomers with the language skills they need to succeed—all while gaining valuable teaching experience.

No teaching experience? No problem!
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds. Whether you’re new to teaching or have years of experience, we provide everything you need to succeed, including detailed lesson plans and a structured curriculum. You won’t need to create your own materials—just bring your enthusiasm!

Where we need YOU THE MOST:
• Day time (mornings): In-person or teach from the comfort of your home via Zoom.
• Flexible Schedules: Become a substitute teacher and step in where your support is needed most.

Your time and effort will create lasting change, giving newcomers the confidence and skills to build their new life in Canada.

Qualifications:

Fluency in English

Basic computer skills

Ready to teach a 2 or 3 hour class a week (or sub 3-4 times a month)

Able to commit for minimum 6 months

Familiar with good volunteer practices
