We are looking for a crime prevention and safety advocate for the Allendale Community League.
This position is a great entry-level opportunity for anyone looking to get involved in the community, meet their neighbours, get creative, and rack up some volunteer experience. No need to have experience in crime prevention and safety! Just be willing to learn.
Possible tasks include (but are not limited to):
-Writing articles for our quarterly newsletter about crime prevention and safety
-Creating occasional social media posts to help our residents be aware of crime prevention
-Coming up with other creative ideas to spread safety awareness and general neighbourliness for our residents
The position typically runs from May to May the following year, but we would like someone to hold the position ASAP until May 2025 (and beyond if you enjoy the position). Applicants are more than welcome to apply to other community league positions, shift to other positions (elections for most positions are in May), or ask for more one-off volunteer opportunities (eg. volunteering at our annual Pancake Breakfast).
