Open Arms Patient Advocacy Society is currently recruiting for Marketing Chair! The roles and responsibilities for this position are outlined below. We are a non-profit organization based in Alberta that offers free advocacy services for individuals in our province who are struggling with their healthcare needs. We empower individuals to have a voice, and offer guidance, resources, and support to help navigate our challenging healthcare system.

Qualifications:

The Marketing Chair will work in collaboration with the Media Director, Outreach Director, and the Marketing & Outreach Team to promote the services of the Society, develop new strategies for outreach and promotion, and produce content for newsletters, blogs, and social media.

Key Responsibilities Include:

Lead Marketing Committee meetings in collaboration with the Media and Outreach Directors

Manage marketing planning, implementation, and evaluation to align with the Society's goals

Collaborate with the team to regularly produce content such as social media posts, blogs, and newsletters related to Alberta healthcare issues

Provide oversight and guidance regarding marketing tools including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, website (WordPress), and more

Liaise with external partners (non-profits, media outlets, government agencies, etc.) to expand the Society’s visibility and community presence

Mentor and support Marketing Committee volunteers, ensuring effective task delegation and role preparedness

Oversee the use of all visual branding tools (logo, banner, website content, etc.)

Stay current on Alberta healthcare news and emerging patient care topics

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Experience in marketing, communications, or related fields (professional or volunteer)

Knowledge of social media strategy, content creation, and basic graphic design

Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Passion for healthcare equity and patient advocacy

Train and manage Marketing Committee volunteers and ensure volunteers possess the appropriate skills for the role.

Determine and implement all marketing tools such as image, logo, banner, website, and communication materials.

Stay up to date on current healthcare issues and matters surrounding patient care.


Training:

All volunteers will receive onboarding that includes:

Overview of Open Arms Patient Advocacy Society’s mission, services, and structure

Role-specific training on marketing platforms, tools, and guidelines

Ongoing mentorship and support from the Executive Team

Access to regular team meetings and development opportunities
