Are you a creative, innovative, and organized person who loves planning, designing, and developing?

Dreamcatcherâ„¢ is looking for volunteers to join our Tourism Program! From May-September, we host fun events for our community such as guided animal tours, a magical forest, and animal yoga! However, this winter we are focusing on re-developing our program so that it is planned and ready to launch for the spring and make our vision come to life!

Roles:
- Administrative/Planners
- Sales/Marketing/Analytics/Logistics
- Leadership Roles
- Magical Forest Development

Duties may include:
- Help with planning, organizing, and executing events
- Brainstorm innovative ideas & activities for events/experiences
- Make signs for events & activities
- Contact other organizations, vendors, etc. to develop partnerships
- Create event itineraries and templates
- Order and/or pick up items for events
- Help set up for events (during our tourism season)
- Collaborate with other tourism staff and volunteers
- Design experiences and packages for tourists
- Manage administrative duties such as Eventbrite and listings for Travel Alberta and Explore Edmonton
- Marketing: creating content, writing newsletters or blogs, etc. that relate to our events, or designing a marketing strategy (maximizing SEO's, measurements of success, etc.)
- Grant writing support: researching/applying
- Managing projects
- Website Development: Updating/designing our tourism webpage/landing page
- Costing/Pricing/Sales: Help with cost planning and analysis (e.g., projecting/forecasting, budgeting, etc.)
- Researching/Data Collection: doing market research, creating surveys, etc.
- Magical Forest Development: design activities or themes, set up forest, create DIY projects, etc.

Volunteers will not have to do ALL of the listed duties above, these are just some things that you could be helping with. We will work with your strengths, interests, experience level, and capacity to help.

Note: this position is hybrid, with some on-site work required (depending on role, task) but can be done mostly remotely (you may be required to have access to a laptop/computer, WIFI/Internet, etc.)


Qualifications:

- High attention to detail
- Organized
- Number Savvy (if helping with costing/pricing, etc.)
- Tech savvy (if necessary)
- Creative
- Able to work independently or with a team
- Has access to internet/wifi, a laptop/computer to do some tasks (if necessary)
- Has reliable transportation when necessary

Assets (not required):
- Experience with tourism development
- Experience with Eventbrite or other tourism/event sites
- Knowledge about tourism industry
- Specialty skills


Training:

Training will be dependent on role/tasks assigned.
We have manuals, course notes, templates, and other resources to help you succeed.
