Dreamcatcherâ„¢ Nature-Assisted Therapy is looking for positive, enthusiastic, and fun individuals to harness their social skills and engage the public in new and exciting activities.
Our Tourism program usually runs between May & September where we offer activities such as:
- Guided Interactive Animal Tours
- Magical Forest Trails
- Animal or Nature Yoga
Shifts may be between 4-8 hours long depending on the event. Majority of events will be hosted on Saturdays and Sundays but may occasionally be hosted on a Friday.
Age Requirements:
- Must be 14+ to volunteer without parent/guardian
- Please inquire if you wish to volunteer with children under 12
Roles & Duties:
- Tour Guides: provide safe interactive animal tours for our guests (opportunities for topic specific tours may be available e.g., plant IDing, agriculture, etc. based on specialty area of volunteer)
- Animal Handlers: ensure safe animal interactions during animal yoga, tours, or at animal stations
- Market booth: Manage the market booth, selling snacks/beverages, swag, providing information, checking guests in
- Activity Stations: Manage whatever station we have (e.g., craft station)
- Other duties may include: helping with setting up/tearing down event, answering guest questions/concerns, ensuring guests are following rules, leading guests into animal pens

Qualifications:
- Empathetic person who LOVES animals of all species
- Reliable and dependable
- Have reliable mode of transportation
- Comfortable working around farm animals (i.e., horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, chickens)
- Comfortable working around vulnerable populations or members of the public
- Social, comfortable with speaking in front of small groups
- Able to provide a criminal record/vulnerable sector and child intervention check
- Likes to be outdoors
- Availability: Weekends, 4-8 hours, at least 2 shifts per month if needed
Assets (not required):
- General knowledge about farm animals
- Equine experience
- Previous tourism experience in area of interest
- Specialty skills
Training:
We provide an annual training shift for giving tours & general set up. Applicants afterwards are trained by shadowing others at the events.
