Description:
Commonly known as the Big Brothers Big Sisters program or one to one mentoring. One mentor (Big) and one mentee (Little) spend time together building a friendship based on trust, support, common interests, and fun! Bigs and Littles participate in a variety of activities—everything from riding bikes, skating, reading, working on homework, cooking, playing video games to just talking and sharing with each other.
Mentees: Anyone between the age of 6 and 17. These kids just need a little extra support.
Locations: Edmonton, Strathcona County, Parkland County, Lac La Biche, Morinville, and St. Albert
Where: In the community at sporting events, festivals, coffee shops, swimming pools, libraries etc.
When: Evenings and/or weekends when the mentor and mentee are both available

Qualifications:
Access to a vehicle is needed for this volunteer opportunity. We also require a Police Information Check and a Child and Youth Intervention Check, which will be covered by the agency.
Training:
BGCBigs will provide online and in-person training for all new volunteers.
