Description:
Our youth hockey team in the Hockey Super League seeks a dedicated Volunteer Athletic Trainer to support our coaches and athletes during the 2025-2026 season. This role is ideal for a post-secondary student in athletic therapy, kinesiology, physical therapy, or a related field needing volunteer hours for their program. You’ll play a vital role on the bench during games, ensuring player safety, managing injuries, and promoting health and wellness for our young athletes.
Responsibilities: Provide on-site injury assessment, first aid, and emergency care during practices and games.
Monitor for concussion symptoms and follow Head Check and concussion protocols.
Support coaches with injury prevention strategies, taping, and rehabilitation guidance.
Address health and wellness concerns for players, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
Maintain and manage an approved First Aid Kit as per league requirements.
Qualifications:
Requirements (per Hockey Super League Checklist): Standard Level First Aid with CPR Level C and AED training (valid certification).
Hockey Trainer Certification – Level 1.
Respect in Sport – Activity Leader certification.
Training:
Head Check training.
Concussion training.
Benefits:
