About Us
Ask An Undergrad is a national nonprofit organization comprised of undergraduate students attending universities across Canada. Our goal is to provide equitable access to resources and mentorship relationships to youth across Canada in order to help them in their transition to post-secondary education. We run webinars on several university-related information and we run a coffee chats initiative in which high school students can speak 1-1 to any university student studying in a field of their interest.

Executive Member, Summary of Role

Position Responsibilities: this is an entirely remote/virtual position and the time commitment is 4-5 hours/month.
Attend meetings (1/semester)
Mentor high school students through 1-1 coffee chats
Participate in panel discussions as a panellist to share your university experiences
Reach out to high schools to inform more students/parents of AAU's resources
Contributing to one of our committees: Social Media, Event Planning, Blog Posts, Partnership Team
We are also looking to fill the following unique roles, if they are of interest to you
Chapter Directors: This role entails being the lead AAU representative at your university. You’ll create an Ask An Undergrad Club at your university, lead local events, and help recruit members to the club that will be mentors for high school students and conduct coffee chats as needed.
TikTok Manager: TikTok is one of our newer platforms. As manager, you’ll have access to the organization account and help create posts and increase engagement. You’ll work directly with social media directors to share content created by yourself and other members

Previous mentorship experience or interest in mentorship

Training:

Minimal - 20 minutes over zoom

Benefits:

You'll be part of a network of 15-20 students that are attending universities across Canada, at various stages in their academic careers. This is a student-led team.
