Description:
CNIB is seeking compassionate and engaging volunteers to facilitate peer support groups for individuals who are living with sight loss. These groups provide a welcoming space for participants to connect with others, share experiences, exchange resources, and build supportive relationships within their communities.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a safe, welcoming, and respectful environment for all participants.
- Guide conversations and help maintain positive group dynamics.
- Collaborate with CNIB staff and co-facilitators.
We currently have facilitator opportunities available in the following locations:
- Virtual Group (facilitated online)
- Spruce Grove
- Sherwood Park
Qualifications:
- Comfortable dealing with strong emotions in a group setting.
- Work well with individuals of all ages and backgrounds.
- Friendly and empathetic.
- Prior group facilitation experience is an asset.
- Minimum 18 years old.
Training:
General orientation and facilitator training (either group or one-on-one).
