Description:
The HodgePodge Lodge is a community reuse building where people can drop off items they no longer need and take ones they do, all for free! The initiative is run by Strathcona County but the day to day operation is done by volunteers. They sort donations, put them away, tidy things up and answer questions the public has.
Qualifications:
Be ok speaking to the public, can handle a hectic, chaotic environment, able to joke around and laugh. Like to organize things.
Training:
We do a one hour orientation and then match you up with another veteran volunteer for your first shift. It is a very easy job to learn to do, not many wrong answers so it's pretty easy!
Benefits:
Looks great on a resume, working with public, we have a very inclusive group of volunteers, environmental impact, you get to help people that may not have much and it's very rewarding. You can take stuff home on your shift!
